Face & Neck Procedures

As we age, gravity, together with aging-related loss of facial tissue elasticity lead to the development of jowls. This disruption of the youthful and clean jaw line is a tell-tale sign of aging. Changes in the neck may include loose skin, loose muscles (which may be visible as neck “chords”) and fullness due to extra fat that accumulates in the neck and under the jawline. This process depends on many factors including family traits, general health and life style such as nutrition, weight, smoking and sun exposure.

We offer a treatment plan that appropriately addresses the specific aesthetics concerns of each patient.

Blepharoplasty

The eyes represent the most prominent facial feature and they are also called the “windows to the soul”.

Sun exposure contributes to the loss of tissue elasticity of the eyes and this turns into wrinkles, puffiness and/or bags of skin and dark circles around the eyes.  These changes may give the face an expression of age, being tired or an angry look.

Good candidates for blepharoplasty are men or women who have one or more of the following:

  • Excess upper eye lid skin. – This excess skin can be removed by cutting away the excess skin.

  • Excess fat in the lower eyelid - This excess fat can be removed through a small incision right underneath the eyelashes.

One advantage to either procedure is to remove a smoother, less wrinkly appearance. Most patients can benefit from a conservative reduction of extra skin in this region. The Blepharoplasty procedure takes from one to two hours, depending upon the extent of the areas to be treated.

The improvement achieved by cosmetic eyelid surgery is often significant and can be expected to last for many years. Most patients describe that observers are aware of the improved look but are unable to point out how this enhancement happened. Although the aging process will continue, there will be less likelihood of experiencing the same concerns of puffy fat pockets and excess skin.

The recovery time for eyelid lift surgery is approximately one week.

Brow lift (Forehead Lift)

When we see a person we first focus on the eyes; so the eyebrows are extremely important for the overall aesthetics of a face; unfortunately, the brows are commonly overlooked or not addressed appropriately. As a result of the normal process of facial aging, the forehead is commonly affected causing droopy eyebrows. Over time, horizontal forehead lines develop and unappealing frown lines between the brows can accentuate an aged and sometimes angry appearance.

The appearance of droopy eyelids may be due to brows that are positioned too low. These unfavorable developments can be reversed and corrected with the help of a brow lift.

About Browlift Surgery

The brow lift is a surgical procedure designed to enhance the appearance and position of the eyebrows resulting in a more youthful, open and pleasant look. The eyes are directly affected by reducing the stern appearance that a low brow position conveys.
